Sheriff’s Joint Vice Task Force

The Sheriff’s Joint Vice Task Force was established on May 08, 2013. It was formed to enforce the laws related to prostitution, gambling, Racketeering Influenced Corrupt Organizations (RICO), counterfeiting, and illegal alcohol sales to minors.

The Vice Task Force assists uniformed patrol and federal task force units in undercover investigations as needed.

The task force’s members include Deputies from the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office and Officers from the Clayton County Police Department. One member is from the Clayton County Fire Department’s Tactical Team!

As of the end of May, 2013, the Vice Task Force has made 17 arrests for prostitution and 10 arrests for possession of narcotics. The unit has assisted in the capture of multiple wanted persons and assisted Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in North Carolina and Georgia, seizing over 3,700 pounds of marijuana, 10 pounds of methamphetamine, and multiple weapons. Let’s hope the great start continues and we can clean the streets up!
