The Sheriff's Office's Quartermaster is responsible for issuing and collecting equipment and supplies. This may include uniforms, firearms, keys, radios, and computer equipment. The Quartermaster is the liason with the county's Fleet Maintenance Department and Department of Information Technology in order to facilitate equipment issue, maintenance, and returns. The Quartermaster also assists with any special projects involved with these departments.
The Quartermaster also functions as the department's Technical Support, and assists with technical issues when required. This helps lessen the amount of service calls to the county's Department of Information Technology and provides a quicker response.
The Quartermaster also acts as the department Safety Officer, and is the department's representative on the county's Vehicle Accident Appeal Board (VAAB).
In addition to these functions, the Quartermaster is attached to the department's Training Section. The Quartermaster is a certified instructor that regularly assists with training.
